My father was a fatherless child. My biological grandfather was unable or unwilling to admit that he had fathered a child. Meanwhile my biological grandfather and my father have passed. The question about my origin was still very important to me. I had carried out a Y-DNA comparison with the grandson of my grand-father's brother. The Genetic test has confirmed that he was my biological grandfather.

Positive: fast delivery and implementation. Negative: Nothing.

Very professional. The paternity test could be less expensive.

Review by M. Herch on the 13.01.2012: 5 out of 6 stars
At the age of 53 years, my suspicions were finally confirmed: My parents are not my biological parents. Even as a child, I doubted the story of my parents. The doubts were at that time drawn into the ridiculous. I couldn't convince my parents to carry out a DNA test. Fortunately, I am in a good relationship with my aunt (my mother's sister). With her help I was able to confirm that I am not the daughter of my mother. Although I still do not know who is my biological mother, the result was a redemption to me.

The Lifestyle Gentest Package contains of the following DNA tests :

Warrior gene
Risk-taking and success may have genetic causes. The MAOA-L gene variant, the so-called warrior gene, causes its carriers to be more willing to take risks while simultaneously enabling them to better assess their chances of success in critical situations.

Alcohol Flush Reaction
"Flushing" is a condition which causes the body to be unable to fully digest alcohol. It causes several symptoms: headaches, nausea, light-headedness, occasional skin swelling and itchiness, occasional extreme drowsiness and an increased pulse. These symptoms often restrain the affected person from further drinking. They can also lead to the wrong conclusion that the people affected get drunken more easily than others.

Avoidance of Errors
The reasons for repeated wrong decisions are not only patterns of our thinking. A genetic mutation can also be responsible. This genetic characteristic causes the growth of a smaller amount of dopamine receptors. Dopamine receptors are responsible for remembering wrong decisions. To remember wrong decisions, enables us to make the better decision whenever we face a similar situation.

Back pain
If the spongy inner part of a spinal disc dries out this is called lumbar disc disease. This can cause different types of back and sciatic pains. A certain mutation in the gene called CLIP raises the risk for this disease.

Bitter taste perception
More than one gene are responsible for the perception of bitter taste. Three of them are analyzed with this test. About 25% of the population lacks the ability of bitter taste perception due to genetic reasons.

Freckling
Freckles appear independently of a person's origin. Freckles have genetic reasons and they only appear when a certain variant of the dominant melanocorint-1-receptor-gen MC1R is present.

Male pattern baldness
There are two genetic variants which significantly increase the probability for baldness among European men.

Caffeine metabolism
Caffeine is digested to the amount of 95% by the cytochrome P450 1A2 in the liver. Carriers of the genetic variant of the *1F-Allele metabolize caffeine slowly while individuals who are homozygote for the *1A/*1A genotype metabolize caffeine fast.

Earwax type
Whether the earwax is wet or dry is defined by a mutation in a single gene

Longevity
A person's lifespan depends on environmental factors such as the diet and the lifestyle. Nevertheless there are several genes which prolong the lifespan.

Muscle performance
Athletic performance is influenced by genetic factors, among others. The genes determine between 20% and 80% of the properties for oxygen uptake, cardiac output and muscle fiber composition.

Nicotine dependence
There are many social and genetic aspects that influence the smoking behavior. Several studies have shown that genetic factors are responsible for how badly someone is addicted to nicotine and for how many cigarettes a person smokes a day.
